  • Project: Atlanta Falcons Life
  • Project Completed: 2008
  • Description: Designed to give a visual refresh to the official community portal of the Atlanta Falcons.
They were using a different forum software and wanted to switch to the better features of IPB, and doing so they needed a new design. I took some inspiration from the main web site, and just had fun.

  • Dallas Stars
  • Project: Dallas Stars
  • Project Completed: 2008
  • Description: This skin was designed to match the web site of the Stars, but this project later fell subject to a disastrous color change.
This draft was considered 'too dark' but then again, I thought their web site was... Go figure...
I did the changes that were requested, but I like the original far more!

  • Project Completed: 2008
  • Description: The Jonas Brothers Fan Club migrated forum software, and I created their new skin.

Projects Completed in 2007

  • bhp Biliton Gonzo is the internal network of bhp Biliton, one of the largest raw material companies in the world.
  • Project: bhp Biliton
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: Gonzo is the internal network of bhp Biliton, one of the largest raw material companies in the world.
This skin was originally crafted with none other than Gonzo the Great hanging (upside-down, mind you) from the top right corner of the skin, but licensing a Jim Henson Company character is a nightmare!
I crafted a custom emoticon 'flower' and stuck in one that had some Gonzo-ish elements to keep the original flair alive, albeit discreetly.

  • Blue Charcoal This was a free skin released for IPB 2.2. It was one of the most popular designs I created during my time at Metalaxe.
  • Project: Blue Charcoal
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: This was a free skin released for IPB 2.2. It was one of the most popular designs I created during my time at Metalaxe.

  • Christian Outdoorsman
  • Project: Christian Outdoorsman
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: I'm not entirely crazy about this skin, but it matches the web site very well.
I did a little touch up work on the logo, as it was hard to tell exactly what it was (fishing lure/line and a gun sight), and just matched the colors.

  • Invisionize Envy
  • Project: Invisionize Envy
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: This skin was created for a skin contest over at Invisionize and it was installed as an alternate skin on the forum.
The reason behind the name is cheesy, but my only goal was to make everyone green with envy from my entry, and I did just that.

  • Eternal Flame
  • Project: Eternal Flame
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: This is still the sexiest dark IPB skin I've ever seen, let alone made.

  • Live Love Be
  • Project: Live Love Be
  • Project Completed: 2007

  • Meg Baisden Photography
  • Project: Meg Baisden Photography
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: Meg and Charles Baisden are a photography team out of Florida, and wanted to set up a forum for their clients.
It was originally conceived as a meeting ground for brides-to-be and married couples that had used Meg and Charles for photographs, but I'm not sure what came of the site after I wrapped up the skin.
I pulled in some ideas from their web site and blog to come up with what you see.
Meg and Charles are truly talented and genuinely great people, so stop by and poke around their fantastic portfolio!

  • Metalaxe Default Forum Skin
  • Project: Metalaxe Default Forum Skin
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: The Metalaxe site I designed used color coded sections across the site, and the forum was no exception.
I crafted this to fit seamlessly with the rest of the site, and I didn't hear any complaints about the outcome.

  • Newfield Network
  • Project: Newfield Network
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: This is the Newfield Network forum skin, based on their old site design.
I wanted to stay nice and clean, focusing on content rather than pizazz in the skin. The best thing about the whole project is the dynamic header image, scaling to fit all browser widths.

  • Metalaxe Elementals - Ocean
  • Project: Metalaxe Elementals - Ocean
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: This was the first of a planned line of free skins entitled Metalaxe Elementals.
My original intention was to use this same template but swap out the graphics for the other elements (wind, fire, earth), focusing on powerful imagery to really sell the skins.
I finished this one and released it, never to make another.
The custom code involved in the side menu was very complex and difficult to maintain, so when the next version of IP.Board was released, I scrapped the idea of upgrading Ocean and creating the others I planned.

  • Project: Official Montreal Canadiens Forum
  • Filed Under: IP.Board Skins
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: As part of my NHL contracted skins, the Canadiens' forum was converted from VBulletin to IP.Board. I copied the skin so well that most people couldn't even tell they were using a different board application.

  • Board Index Official Carolina Hurricanes Forum
  • Project: Official Carolina Hurricanes
  • Filed Under: IP.Board Skins
  • Project Completed: 2007
  • Description: Red, white and blue go well together in just about every circumstance, and the skin for the Official Hurricanes board is no exception. Using bold color accents, we crafted a skin that was truly captivating.

  • Cannonball 8000
  • Project: Cannonball 8000
  • Project Completed: 2006
  • Description: This skin was designed for participants of the 2006 Cannonball 8000, but I'm pretty sure it never amounted to anything that was used.
It's a shame, because the forum would have been fun to use.

  • Janet Jackson
  • Project: Janet Jackson
  • Project Completed: 2006
  • Description: Though this skin is many years old at this point, it's still one of my favorites.
Janet Jackson actually browses her own forum, and she requested that her music agency get a new look for the forum because the default skin was hideous.
After completion, I was thanked by Janet (through a few intermediaries) for the great design.

  • Inspire
  • Project: Metalaxe Inspire
  • Project Completed: 2006
  • Description: Long before IPB 2.1 was released, IPS released some screenshots of the new admin control panel.
I really liked what I saw at the time and came up with a front end skin inspired by the images.

  • Description: I'm not sure what the site was for, but I do know that it looked sexy as hell.

  • Style Industry
  • Project: Style Industry
  • Project Completed: 2006
  • Description: Though this skin is almost four years old, it's still the most customized layout I've created for a client.
I stripped out so much of the fluff IPB has, that it took more than 40 hours of work to get to what you see in the screen shot.
It was a lot of work, but very infectious; it started my love for minimal designs.

  • The Vista Forums
  • Project: The Vista Forums
  • Project Completed: 2006
  • Description: This skin was so much fun. I was called upon to pull in the look and feel of the Microsoft site, and this is the result.
